When SUV fell out of favorite with the consuming public, auto manufacturers around the world started to blurring the lines between the once well-defined genres. Thus, it gave birth to the crossover concept, vehicles designed to fit multitude of functions and lifestyles, though the forms themselves are sometime questionable (hint: the Honda Crosstour)
This is not so with the new Audi A7 Sportback, a spacious 5-door model introduced yesterday evening via what else but the most popular social network in the world, Facebook. By obtaining the best aspects from a coupe, a sedan, and a station wagon, the design team at Audi created a flowing silver bullet silhouette with agility to match. Powered by a selection of 4 variations of Audi V6 engines, including the 3.0 TDI, the advanced diesel technology which played a big part in Audi's success on Le Mans 24 Hours. The interior extrudes luxury as the Audi's flagship sedan, the A8.
A wrap around dashboard provides the feel of an integrated cockpit, a perfect form of man and machine. High-grade leather upholstery, LED ambient lighting, and the advanced MMI Touch Infotainment offers effortless control to the drive and matchless comfort to the passengers. Yet, it's the large rear hatch and 18.89 cubic feet of space at its rear compartment, which really set the A7 apart from the rest of the Audi portfolio. Fold down the rear row seating, and the space double to 49.09 cubic feet, enough for a complete luggage set and more.
No information yet on its North American launch date. But do expect a 4-wheel drive version to arrive this side of the pond once Audi does launch it.
