Originally debuted in 1987 in the Aliens movie, as worn by Sigourney Weaver's character Ripley through out the movies, the Reebok CL Alien Stomper is one of those classics which has survived and became a cultural reference and icon. The shoe was designed with functionality in mind for Ripley in the movie. The original was based on the BB6600 basketball shoes, but instead of a traditional lacing system, it has been replaced with the large Velcro enclosure in the mid-foot. These were extremely low in production numbers, and even till today, it is one of the coveted silhouettes. It seems like it could be deemed the forerunner of popular sneaker from labels such as Ato Matsumoto and Kanye West's creation for Nike, the Air Yeezy. This season, the Alien Stomper makes a come back in two colorways for September, a white perforated leather with blue accents and baby blue lining, and another in tonal tan suede. These will be hitting retailers such as Styles.
