Hennessy Artistry 2010 – New York City | Event Recap

As a Nor-Easter barreled through New York City last evening, several hundred invited guests were fortunate enough to enjoy the companies of vast talents courtesy of Hennessy.  Hosted by Grammy Award winner The Roots and the ever skillful musician Q-Tip, the Hennessy Artistry 2010 stopped by the Big Apple’s vaulted ballroom, Cipriani Wall Street, for an electrifying night of live performance by DJ D-Nice, Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blige, and more…

Since its Chicago debut in September, the Hennessy Artistry event is a mixture of cultures, from music to the arts.  As members of The Roots so duly stated “The process of blending Hennessy cognac is similar to the process of putting together a new song or album it takes the right amount of each element to reach perfection.” Another dimension to the Hennessy Artistry program is Artistry GIVES, an opportunity to showcase young talents in the local art communities in conjunction with the non-for profit Americans for the Arts. This presented the opportunity for both The Roots and Q-Tip to manage the curation process where they selected some of their favorite artists to design the emblematic Hennessy V.S. bottle.  All were presented during the event in a high-tech 3-D projection.  Though the bottles will not be available commercially, they will be made in limited numbers for Hennessy charity on a later date.
