First created for running in the 1980s, the adidas ZX series has made its way off the tracks and became quite an indispensable player in the urban sneaker scene. Recently, the ZX series had become quite a favorite canvas for collaboration, and has appeared in projects like the Star Wars collaboration and works with mita Sneakers and X-Large, and is also a strong contender in the adidas Consortium series. This month, the mid-top adidas Originals ZX800 Casual gets a contemporary hiking make over. Hiking goes street as the new ZX 800 has switched out the cross stitches for a reformed moccasin toe-stitch. While the hiking references are kept in the lace hooks, they have been updated to a bright adidas Originals blue. The color palette has been shed of earthy tones and are instead, kept clean in a mix of white and grey with pops of blue. The white-specked black laces have taken the place of rope laces, and the overall effect is one of a reformed, street ready number. Available now from MS.
