Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garçons is almost as clandestine as the lady behind the label, because other than Dover Street Market in London, it is almost impossible to find a full, extensive collection of CDG goods under one roof. Usually, the lines are split up into boutiques and concept stores, and proves to be quite a trek and hunt for those seeking particular pieces. To the joy of those in Asia, Kawakubo is bringing her multibrand concept to Asia, and will be opening an impressive 19,000-square foot emporium holding various Comme des Garçons lines from Play to Black in Beijing.

The new space, named I.T. Beijing Market, is operated by the I.T. Group, Comme des Garçons' franchise partner in Hong Kong and Greater China. Aside from Comme des Garçons, the space will also hold a curated line-up of labels such as Yves Saint Laurent, Ann Demeulemeester and BAPE.

After Beijing, Comme des Garçons also has expansion plans for Japan, as a 32,000 square-foot space will be hitting Tokyo at the end of next year, and it will be dubbed the Ginza Komatsu Market, created and operated in partnership with Komatsu. via: WWD
