Two news items from Dave White, the British-born artist who has become one of the most beloved artists in the sneaker and fashion world: first, the artist is releasing a limited run of 50 giclee prints of "The Cheeseburger," the first painting in his series of food favorites, which evoke vibrant flavor through textured color. The sauce-dripping painting was originally shown at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York for the launch of the 'Project on Creativity.' Ten of the prints are finished by hand with impasto paint, and all are hand numbered and signed by the artist.
Second, White just completed an amazing mural at AOL headquarters in New York, which we previewed earlier this month. The corporate commission "Rodeo Rider" has the raw energy of a cave painting, courtesy of White's signature controlled chaos. And as anyone who reads blogs knows, rodeo riders are pretty in right now. We've got a number of details shots of the installation painting, as well as a time-lapse video of the artist at work. Check out both after the jump, along with a detailed shot of "The Hamburger."
