Jordan CP3.IV - Chris Paul's Signature Shoe | Official Launch
Yesterday at the New Orleans Arena, Jordan Brand and Chris Paul official unveiled the fourth signature sneaker for Paul, the Jordan CP3.IV. This evolution of the Jordan CP3 franchise is inspired by the quickness of Chis Paul's on-court performance and on a lighter note, Gundam a Japanese anime figure also played a part in the design of the CP3.IV. In designing for the quickness of Paul, Jordan Brand footwear designers developed an innovative midsole cushioning system called Podulon (pronounced PAHD-ju-lahn), which was featured in the previous JORDAN CP.3 III installment and now carried over to the CP3.IV. Continue below for more about the new Jordan CP3.IV...
The innovative Podulon cushion system is actually an offspring of the Independent Podular Suspension system from the Air Jordan XX:
Podulon was developed as an evolution to the Independent Podular Suspension system that was a cutting-edge feature of the AIR JORDAN XX. Podulon system's breakthrough lies in the engineered shape of Cushlon foam that, when strategically placed under the forefoot area receiving high impact, provides cushioning exactly where needed without compromising the integrity of the shoe. Cushlon foam's lifespan is long, so the Podulon technology is meant to sustain comfort and responsiveness.
In addition to the innovative cushioning system, the upper of the sneaker is also designed with quickness in mind which includes lightweight synthetics for increased breathability and flex grooves for dynamic cutting and stopping. As with his previous signature sneakers, Chris Paul and the designers worked in a few special design elements which honors CP's past. The external heel graphic honors his grandfather, while the asymmetrical collar is modeled after Paul's favorite AIR JORDAN, the AIR JORDAN XIII Low. In addition, the star graphic on the sockliner represents Paul's attributes of quickness, heart, faith, family, leadership and community.
The Jordan CP3.IV will release officially on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the suggested retail price of $118. In February 2011 look for two more colorways, Black-Orion Blue-Varsity Purple and White/Black-Orion Blue and in March look for the White/Sunstone-Black colorway.
