Editions of Nike Zoom Kobe VI just keep on coming. So far, they've all been interesting additions to the line up, considering the updated mid-top profile of the shoe, and of course, it's Black Mamba-inspired snakeskin texture. In anticipation of Black History Month, honored each February, Nike is releasing a specially themed version of the Kobe VI. The shoe works in some classic history-inspired aspects, starting with a gold Swoosh and heel counter, and an embroidered "BHM" monogram on the heel, in the pan-African colors of green, gold, and red. The insoles are specially themed too; the right reads "Overcome the odds. Make an impact on your sport. Change the world." while the left includes the phrase "A Call To Greatness." The number XXXV is also present on the tongue and insole, marking the 35th anniversary of the commemoration of the Black History Month. Finally, what is probably the most subtle but interesting feature is the cross-hatching pattern, covering both the insoles and visible under the translucent snake texture upper. The design evokes traditional African art, and serves to make this a very interesting shoe. Release information is still forthcoming, but February is the obvious choice.
