No country is devoted to basketball and the NBA like the US, and companies who have a big stake in the basketball business are scrambling to open up new markets. The arrival of Yao Ming in the NBA in 2002 is essentially the model, and now the NBA and other big athletic companies are searching for next Yao with development programs in places like India. One possible candidate to break the mold again is Swede Jonas Jerebko, who has been playing in the NBA since 2009, and is a part of the Nike stable. Now, through the Sportswear division, Nike has produced a four part mini-documentary, revolving around Jerebko and his fellow Swede, hip hop artist Adam Tensta. The project is called AMERICAN MADE, and will culminate in a basketball tournament hosted by Jerebko and Tensta February 18th in Stockholm. The tournament will feature four teams from Cali Crew, Sneakersnstuff, Tres Bién Shop and Shelta, and if that model sounds familiar, you might remember the adi Cup. Check out the teaser after the jump, and look for the first of the four videos at the Nike Sportswear Sweden Facebook page, starting February 8th.
