While slightly less popular than some of the flagships in the adidas line, the ZX8000 has a solid history going back 26 years, and has been a solid platform for some of the top adi collaboration in recent years. The recent high-profile incarnations of the ZX8000 include the Star Wars x adidas Originals Boba Fett version, an Adidas Consortium AZX Project done with CLOT, and another AZX version done with UNDFTD. For Spring 2011, adidas is releasing a more classic colorway that wouldn't have seemed out of place in 1986, when the ZX8000 was a new offering. The upper, done in nylon, synthetic suede, and welded mesh, is based in black, with a gray/teal 3-Stripe, set off by a toecap in yellow. It's not too tame, but not out of control either.
