Back when Stan Smith was tearing up the grass courts in the early 1970's, he never could have guessed what the future would hold for his simple shoes. In recent years, of course, the Stan Smith has been adopted by sneaker fans as a cornerstone of classic and casual athletic footwear; it no longer gets much use on the tennis court, but for it's adoption as a style piece has made it more popular than ever. Among the flavor injections that adidas has been giving the Stan Smith (which have recently included a stingray version, and a selection of models in snakeskin), is this latest version in zebra-striped horsehair. The zebra print is popping up here and there for Spring 2010 - Vans is also taking a shot at it. Still, adidas may have nailed it here - the shoe is nicely finished by boot-inspired lace hooks, and a jet black sole. This interesting shoe - which amazingly, did not involve Jeremy Scott - and which we previewed back in February, is now available from Schuh-You. Detailed images after the jump.
