In what was already a contentious atmosphere between supporters and critics, officials at Los Angeles Police Department issued a statement on Wednesday that officers arrested a French nationalist believed to be one of the two artists known as Space Invaders. The arrest came last Friday, around the debut of MOCA's Art In The Streets exhibition, when patrolmen detained 2 suspects, one to be a French national, with buckets filled with grout and tile pieces. While Space Invaders have yet to confirm the arrests. The artists' website updated its portfolio section with "Map of Blue Invasion", 18 Space Invaders artworks located in and around the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.
