Casio G-Shock May 2011 | New Releases
Colorways that get your heart racing, panting for air... not a believer yet? Casio's May entries for its G-Shock product line will likely change your mind. In all 11 new models for this month, including 7 with Hyper Colors palettes, a design process specifically randomized colors and creates dazzling array of options for G-Shock models G-001, GA-110, and GD-100. On the technical side of the equation, Casio adds AWG-100, AWG-M500, both with MULTI BAND 5 and GW-6900 with MULTI BAND 6. All 3 timepieces automatically adjust time accordingly by triangulate radio signals, either from 5 or 6 transmission points, to the nearest atomic clock. The recent disaster in Japan and outage at Ootakadoya-yama atomic time transmission point served as powerful reminders of redundant systems. Finally, the Rastafarian theme GLX-6900 devised by Ryan Arakaki, Todd Shimabuku, Jun Jo, and Rhandy Tambio of In4mation. The G-Lide timepiece features a "One Love" holographic imprint on the EL backlighting, a special packaging, and graphical readings of tide schedules. All timepieces are set to launch sequentially over the course of this month.
