SELFRIDGES x Nike Sportswear Air Flow TZ - Tonal Pack | Release Info

A precursor to Nike Huarache and the Air Presto, the Nike Air Flow came from the mind of Nike exec Bruce Kilgore, the mastermind behind Air Force 1 back in 1982. Those familiar with Nike's design process, especially during those early days of the company, knew it to be the playground for mad scientists. Kilgore fitted in that category quite well, particularly when he took on another product segment essential to the company's vitality, its running division. That unyielding pioneering spirit and "think outside of the box" psychology literally transformed Kilgore into Frankenstein himself. And his "monster"? The Nike Air Flow. One, the upper construction taken from Nike Sockracer, the original marathon sneaker from Nike's archive. The second part and most important part, its mid and outsole, came from none other than the stuffing from a Tuff Stuff Teddy Bear. Now, ahead of the the re-release of the original Air Flow and its updated descendants, the Nike Lunar Flow, Nike Sportswear, whom worked in part with London department store SELFRIDGES, will launch a tonal version of the classic. In all tan or all black, the SELFRIDGES x Nike Sportswear Air Flow TZ will be the perfect colorways for those occasions where a quick "dress-up" and change over to a "dress-down" are in need. To be available at SELFRIDGES' Ultralounge section starting this weekend. In the meantime, see an updated video of Bruce Kilgore talking about the Nike Air Flow after the jump. via: CT
