Audi has unveiled its refreshed S5 range for 2012. The most significant change is to the S5 Coupe — its 4.2 liter V8 is being replaced with the same supercharged 3.0-liter V6 found in the Sportback and Cabriolet. It delivers 333 hp, enabling the car to go from 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds — 0.2 seconds faster than the V8 — and tops out at an electronically governed 155 mph. According to Audi, the V6 also consumes 20% less fuel per 100 km than its V8 predecessor. On the style front, the S5s feature updated front lights, modified body details and a new crystal-effect paint finish. The most significant technical updates are the Quattro drive with crown-gear center differential and electromechanical power steering
Note: according to the guys at Autoblog, Audi is stating these changes are for Europe only. Stateside, we’ll have the same S5 we did last year.
