Courtesy of the Nike Sportswear blog, images of a pair of Air Force 1 Bespoke made to order for Kimihiro Takakura. Taking into account factors like the breadth of available colors and materials, as well as cost and turnaround time, one could suggest that these are disappointingly underwhelming (though the horsehair on the tongue is a nice touch). At the same time, one could argue that these are a tastefully executed antipode to the patent leather-safari print-icy soled abominations that appear to be made just because they can. Painfully boring or classic styling inimical to passing trends? It's a debate that can rage on till you're ready to make a new pair of shoes. In the meantime, Mr. Takakura is happy to own the exact thing he wanted. Forget what the shoe says, he's no loser.
