For fans of retailer UNIQLO living in New York City, the biggest gripe is the shortage of merchandise availabilities since there is only one single storefront serving a population of 8 million. However, remedy is on the way in the form of not one but two global flagship stores. After more than a year in planning, design, and construction, the popular Japanese retail chain will be opening two of its largest retail locations to date at New York City's storied Fifth Avenue and another at the busy 34th Street. At 89,000 square feet, the UNIQLO on Fifth Avenue, officially designated as UNIQLO New York Fifth Avenue, will open to public on Friday, October 14th. Following on its heel, UNIQLO New York 34th Street, the retailer second largest storefront with 64,000 square feet, will open a week later on October 21st.  In preparation for the deluge of visitors,  UNIQLO also hired 1,100 new employees to shore up all 3 New York locations for the frantic holiday shopping season. Both are set not only to have the latest items UNIQLO's Fall/Winter 2011 Collection, special in-store exclusives will be available at both locations as well.
