CONVERSE Jack Purcell Johnny Tweed High

  • Author:

Canadian badminton champion John "Jack" Purcell helped to design his eponymous sneaker back in 1935 as a performance court shoe. The model has undergone a variety of changes since then, and though the refashioned high-top "Johnny" silhouette may seem at first blush like a radical departure from the classic Jack Purcell we all know, the style actually restores the side detail from the original version. It appears as leather paneling in dark purple for this latest CONVERSE Jack Purcell Johnny release, set against a distinctive woven plaid upper dressed in predominantly green and yellow hues. Metallic gold eyelets, leather embossed tongue tag and signature toe cap round out the features. They're available now through UK retailer Size?.
