The plot line was the quintessential Horatio Alger story set in modern day. Unfortunately, even this contemporary telling of rags to riches can't escape fate. This afternoon, Home Box Office, or better known as HBO, announced it will not renew cable tv-series "How to Make It in America" for 2012, making this season to be its last. Though often called "Entourage" of New York City, "How to Make It in America"s more somber storyline and realistic setting made it quite popular among Big Apple's street culture set. Other canceled shows include "Hung" and "Bored to Death", all to make room for six new series in the works. Already some fans of show are calling for a petition drive to keep the show on. Perhaps we will see facsimile of it on other network in the near future.
