Johnny Cupcakes, the Massachusetts-based label born of a DIY aesthetic, is teaming up with Nickelodeon for the third and final installment of their collaborative series. A new behind-the-scenes video captures interviews with Nickelodeon executives discussing the conception, execution and completion of the project. Rob LaQuinta, Creative Director of Product Design & Development at Nickelodeon, discloses that the company gave the Johnny Cupcakes team an unprecedented level of creative freedom because they wanted to see what their brands would look like through "the Johnny Cupcakes filter." Teaser shots reveal graphics featuring beloved '90s characters from the network (as Suzie Lee Raia, VP of Apparel for Nickelodeon observes, "'90s is nostalgia"), which presumably will make their way onto various T-shirt designs.
