When Japanese fashion retailer
tackled their collaboration project with
, they decided to take advantage of the Jack Purcell sneakers. The choice for the low cut tennis shoe is obvious, as these are popular with fans who are a little bit more mature, compared to the appeal of its wilder sibling, the Chuck Taylor All Star. Although it may not be apparent at first, these sneakers are influenced by military wear. The uppers are made in olive and navy tones, reflecting army and navy, with a herringbone pattern providing a subtle texture. The shoe laces have also been changed to a thinner, rounder lace, similar to draw cords on military jackets. Both versions are currently available for pre-order on
's online store, with the delivery planned for early February.
