You may not even think twice about them as you walk by each day, but those stickers you see stuck to lamp posts, mailboxes, walls, and buildings each carry a message unique to themselves and represent a cultural trend first started back in 1966 with Andy Wharhol's Banana sticker. In an effort to capture the widespread dominance stickers have gained in streets around the world, the book Sticker: From Punk Rock to Contemporary Art (aka Stuck-Up Piece of Crap) features over 4,000 stickers and includes interviews with ESPO, Swoon, and Clayton Patterson. But, because stopping with the launch of a book wouldn't fit the meaning behind this book, now there's an iPhone App, which lets you upload stickers you find along your own travels with their geotag or browse sticker collections by type (such as graffiti, art, skateboarding) or by artist. Its also a great way to spread the word about your own work. Check it out on iTunes where you can download it for free. via: Frank151
