Two new cars were rolled out under the Mercedes AMG banner at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona today: their in-house 2012 Formula 1 racer, the AMG Petronas F1 WO3, and the redesigned 2013 SL63 AMG. Known as the Silver Arrow, the WO3 was introduced to the public for the first time by Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg and represents Mercedes' cutting edge of Formula 1 design. While bound to the same regulations as other teams, the Mercedes-Benz team touts the WO3's FO108Z engine, which is a 2.4 liter, eight cylinder powerhouse, but at a lower weight (125kg) and with 30% improved fuel economy even though it is composed of 200 more parts than the 4,300 seen in its 2012 version. While Mercedes had the attention of the world-wide car community, they also showed off their new Mercedes SL63 AMG Roadster, which was first seen two months ago at the Detroit Auto Show. While its no Formula One racer, its M157 twin-turbo 5.5 liter V8 pumps out 529 horsepower along with a range of cosmetic and performance upgrades, including a frame that is 275 pounds lighter and standard features like active suspension, sports steering, sport exhaust, 19" wheels, and a compound brake system. Be on the look out for more on these two German-born autos with the SL63 set to hit dealers in July and the WO3 during its pre-season testing scheduled for the next two weeks.  But, before you click away, make sure to check out the two high-octane videos after the jump. via: Autoblog
