The Turkish National Team played their first international match against Romania in 1923, ending in a 2-2 draw. And while this event ultimately represented how spotty their first few decades of play was, the team has banded together in the last decade to chart a new course that has them currently sitting 25th in the FIFA World rankings. Invoking this first match and the uniform the team wore, Nike Soccer built the new Turkish National Team's Away Kit around the country's crest, which they placed prominately in the center of a red stripe that also matches its crew neck collar. Building on their reputation for creating apparel aimed at supporting superior athletic performance, Nike's Away Kit also has a lower environmental impact, with the fabric in the kit's shorts made of 100 percent recycled polyester and 96 percent in the shirt. The fabric is also up to 23 percent lighter than the version Nike built for the team four years ago and it is also embedded with Nike Dri-FIT technology, which helps to regulate players temperatures on the pitch by removing sweat from the body to keep them dry and cool faster than ever before.
