Even before the start of Paris Fashion Week, parent company Gucci Group made no secret that Yves Saint Laurent's creative director Stefano Pilati will be presenting his last collection Monday evening . And like that, Pilati, who was at the helm of the fashion house since 2004, unceremoniously left. Replacing him will be a familiar figure at YSL, designer and sometimes photographer Hedi Slimane, who led the brand when picked by Pierre Bergé, Yves Saint Laurent's longtime partner, in 1996. During a closed door session among key company personnel this morning, YSL executive Paul Deneve made the official announcement though no confirmation on Slimane's appointment will be available till Wednesday.
