A two-hour marathon finish may be the modern-day equivalent of the four-minute mile, but there’s nothing else in the world that will ever be like running the Boston, an event that has captivated the running world since 1897 every third Monday in April. And there’s almost no better brand to take on the task of building a product in honor of the event than fellow New Englander and running enthusiasts New Balance, who used their classic 574 model as the platform. New Balance chose to dress the upper in blue with a touch of yellow along the top eyelets and grey on the midsole. On the rear, runners you pass you will notice “Boston 2012” embroidered on the heel in white, a theme that continues inside on the insole, which features pictures of icons synonymous with Bean Town. You can find these kicks now at select New Balance shops, including Boston-based Concepts.
