Largely unfelt three decades ago, the clout Beastie Boys casted on the new generation of creative types today is immeasurable. Thus, at the recent passing of Adam "MCA" Yauch, there was such an outpouring of compassion and respect. In a chance to honor the late hip-hop pioneer, Shepard Fairey along with several artists participated in the creation of MCA Tribute Billboards. Dotted across Los Angeles, the billboards featured an old Beastie Boys portrait as well as "R.I.P. MCA" imprint, his year of birth and death. The billboards are now on display at the intersection of Sunset Blvd. at Las Palmas and Fairfax just south of Santa Monica Blvd. In addition, other memorial billboards with artworks by KAVES will be on view in and out of the city too.
