One of the last holdouts among the world's leading camera manufacturers, Canon is purportedly getting ready to launch its new mirrorless system sometime next week. During the course of last several years, Canon's fans have clamor for a product range competitive to the Panasonic and Olympus Micro Three-Third, Fujifilm X-Pro1, Sony Alpha NEX, or even the Nikon 1 system. Yet Canon's steadfast approach in only satisfying the consumer and professional sectors have frustrated many users looking for "prosumer" features. In ways, the company has made amends with the launch of Canon PowerShot G1 X (seen here), though the inability to interchange lens did not remedy the issue.
If the rumored announcement on July 24th is true, the new product range is likely to include the new 14.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor found on the Canon PowerShot G1 X , the DIGIC 5 image processor, and a new range of lens. Of course these are just preliminary speculations at the moment though many Canon fans are hoping to be true. via: CR
