The production version of Honda's CR-Z doesn't raise too many eyebrows due to the fact that it carries only a 1.5-liter, four-banger engine that is paired with the brand's Integrated Motor Assist hybrid-electric system that tops out at around 122hp. But, true to their word, Honda has officially prepared a CR-Z race car to compete in Japan's Super GT Series this summer with a fair amount of help coming from Team Mugen. Operated by M-TEC, Mugen has supplied a 2.8-liter V6 twin-turbo engine that maintains its integration with Honda Racing's hybrid system developed exclusively for this car. While the official performance figures haven't been released, we won't have to wait long to see how this green racer performs with it debut coming at the 2012 SUPER GT Series Round 4 SUGO GT 300km Race held on July 28-29. In the meantime, you can check out the Mugen's take on the CR-Z GT in the video from its test runs held at the TWin Ring Motegi track that follow after the click. via: Autoblog
