California's Alpine Laboratories has developed the Radian, offering time-lapse motion cinematography to the masses. The device is a simply designed white round block, featuring a threaded mounting stud up top and a threaded hole at the bottom, allowing it to be mounted vertically or horizontally on a tripod, along with a camera or smartphone mounted atop the Radian. Users will use a free iPhone or Android app to make real-time calculations for settings like pan or tilt, span, duration, start/stop times and number of frames within a shot. It's compatible with digital SLRs or any camera with a trigger release, as well as an Android phone or iPhone. The Radian is up on Kickstarter now. Check out a video overview of the device below.
