New England's CONCEPTS introduces the much anticipated follow-up to last year's New Balancecollaboration, going again with the 999 silhouette for this latest go-round. And while a maritime theme is repeated as the main design inspiration, the focus shifts from leisure to utility, as the shoe is modeled after the high-performance OTB Abyss II boot used by U.S. Navy SEALs. The SEAL 999 borrows some of the boot's key features, including an upper crafted from stain resistant microfiber suede, ballistic mesh and ultra-breathable nylon. Additional details take the form of a gusseted tongue, rubber "N" on the medial side for repelling descents and Morse code encryption on the tongue tag. A topographic design throughout the interior, plus a stitched Concepts logo patch on the footbed, complete the look. An accompanying Arc'teryx SEAL Squamish jacket is set to release along with the kicks. Lightweight and compressible, the outerwear piece is crafted from wind and water resistant Luminara fabric.
Look for the CONCEPTS x New Balance SEAL 999 and CONCEPTS x Arc'teryx Squamish to release in-store this Saturday at 10 am EST.
