From the creator of the 2009 film Coraline comes the next chapter in 3D stop-motion animation, ParaNorman. Produced by LAIKA, an animation house founded by Nike's co-founder Phil Knight, and distributed by Focus Features, ParaNorman tells the story of Norman Badcock, a boy with the uncanny talent of conversing with the dead. When a centuries old witch's curse befalls his hometown, Norman must use his odd trait to deal with both the living and the dead to save it. A celebration of the strange, the creepy, and the abnormal, the animation features the voice of Casey Affleck, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Norman.
Because of the film's association with Nike, the Beaverton-base company decided to kick start its premiere this Friday with an unique Nike Air Foamposite One. With ghoulish smoke graphics in green on anthracite-colored "foam" upper, the ParaNorman x Nike Air Foamposite One includes an embroidered message of "Weird" and "Wins" on the left and right heel tabs, along with Norman's silhouette on its back. Best of all, the sneaker gives an eerie green glow from its carbon fiber support outsoles. To help celebrate the weirdness within all of us, Nike started a Twitter contest for your chance to win a pair.
Step 1: Follow @ParaNorman on Twitter
Step 2: Find a photo of you as a "weird kid"
Step 3: Tweet that photo along with #WEIRDWINS Paranorman Foamposities
Only 800 pairs will be available and only the weird ones will win them all... For more details, please visit http://foamposite.paranorman.com
