PUMA Japan has been secretly working with UNDFTD, mita sneakers, and magforlia on a series of Suede Mid sneakers for the Takumi Collection. Although each model may look completely different, all of the concepts revolve around the return to the origin of PUMA footwear. The all-white pair, designed by Shigeyuki Kunii from mita sneakers, represents the high-quality Japanese sneaker in its purest form. On the other hand, Kazunori Yamada of UNDFTD Tokyo has chosen to express the traditional Japanese color and flora, yamabuki, on his pair. Lastly, Takaya Yamada from magforlia decided to recreate the Rastafarian-colored pair that was given to Walt Frazier when he won the NBA championship during the 1972-73 season. All three versions are already available from mita sneakers and select PUMA stockists in Japan.
