Windows 8 has gotten a big push from Samsung's upcoming ATIV series, highlighted by the ATIV S phone we profiled earlier, as well as this ATIV Tab. The sleek 10.1-inch tablet, measuring about 8.9mm thick and weighing in at 570 grams, runs a version of Windows 8 optimized for ARM-based processors known as Windows RT. Specifically, it's a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor on top of 2GB of memory, enabling the device to boot up instantly without any lag. It comes pre-loaded with Office home and student 2013 RT preview, and is compatible with a range of Windows-based PC devices and accessories -- including printers, keyboards, projectors and external monitors -- through a USB port and uHDMI. A true tablet without a keyboard or stylus, the device packs a powerful 8,200 mAh battery. Stay tuned for word on a U.S. release.
