Zai HIGO - Pocket Ski Tool

Though the austere beauty of these pockets tools makes them seem like art pieces, these Zai HIGO tools are actually designed for use on the ski slope. Designer Kacper Hamilton modeled the implements after the traditional Japanese folding blade known as the Higonokami, one featuring a folding blade and the other housing two folding screw heads used to adjust ski bindings. Crafted from anodized aluminum, with tool bits and blade made from steel, the unique design allows for opening and closing with just one hand, plus a locking mechanism enabled by hidden magnets. Created for Swiss ski company Zai, the prototype tools are sadly unavailable for purchase.
