Earlier tonight in Johannesburg, South Africa, STR.CRD and Capsule Project partnered to explore the relationship between of style and city culture with a presentation called CONNECTED. The partnership selected a group of South African stylists and a group of Berlin stylists for a project that proposes that there is a distinctive Joburg style and a distinctive Berlin style or that there is distinctive style from city to city. As much as people are exposed to worldwide style via the internet, localized style is still very much inspired their immediate surroundings. The two groups of stylists projected style through their interaction and inspiration with their cities to create "Joburg looks" and "Berlin looks". The Joburg stylists were Thithi Nteta and Khaya Sibiya of Punk and Ivy and the Berlin stylists were Joey Elgersma, Mayra Fateh and Lee Stuart all from Bread and Butter Berlin. Take a look below at one of the first events of STR.CRD, a committed exponent of South African street style and culture. Freshness is in Joburg covering STR.CRD the next few days so stay tuned.
