In the business of espionage or other unsavory ventures, things can get dicey pretty quickly. For a hint of reassurance, TUMI created the Tegra-Lite Bulletproof Attaché. Made with 65 layers of Tegris, a polypropylene thermoplastic composite developed by Milliken for impact resistance gears found on NASCAR drives and military personnel. Then it took TUMI two years' worth of research and development, including firing range sessions with rounds of calibre .22 Long and .38 Special, to end up with the final product. Completed with premium leather trims, chrome hardware, and suede interior lining, its false bottom provides a hidden compartment just in case being bulletproof isn't enough. Retails at around US$ 6,000, each briefcase will be made to order with a limited production run of 28 pieces only.
