The 2013 MINI John Cooper Works GP arrives this fall with a turbocharged four-cylinder, good for 218 horsepower and up to 207 pound-feet of torque, which is actually comparable to a standard John Cooper Works Hardtop. The upgrades take the form of a new high-strength cylinder head, reinforced pistons, lighter camshafts, and the addition of BMW’s Valvetronic variable valve timing and lift setup. Additionally, an adjustable coilover suspension allows for a 0.8 inch of ride-height adjustability, while the overall weight is 121 pounds lighter than the vehicle’s standard counterpart. The top of the line from the 2013 MINI lineup, the MINI John Cooper Works GP carries a sticker price of $39,950 ($700 destination fee included). Check out detailed looks in the gallery below.
