Growing up, we’ve all heard the age-old saying of “You can’t have everything in life”. Apparently that does not apply to soccer sensation Cristiano Ronaldo. Quipped with the charming good looks of a Hollywood leading man, the physique of a Greek god, and a soccer talent on par with the likes of David Beckham and Pele. Not to mention his net wealth of $160 million, the fleet of fast cars in his car-park and the countless “arm candies” like models Gemma Atkinson and Irina Shayk by his side. But such extravagant amount of attainments also presents a challenge for Andy Caine, the Creative Director of Nike Football (aka Nike Soccer stateside), when designing CR7: Cristiano Ronaldo Signature Collection – just how they will condense all these elements into a few silhouettes? The solution was quite straightforward, to merge all of them into several key products with a directive that they maybe for either off the pitch, lifestyle uses, or on the pitch, performance wear. As Caine summed up, “It’s a style of play, on or off the pitch.”
The Nike Soccer – CR7: Cristiano Ronaldo Signature Collection for Fall/Winter 2012 will be available at retailers starting on November 15, though some of the items are already for sale on NikeStore.com.
