Serial entrepreneur Jim Jannard had intended for his then start-up, Oakley, to focus only on technical eyewear for sports. That was till arrival of Oakley Frogskins in 1985. And while its form was similar to that of Ray-Ban Wayfarer, Jannard threw all the technical advancements into the Frogskins' lens and made it essentially a performance eyewear in spite of its lifestyle-centric silhouette. Today, some 28 years later, Oakley will be releasing the Frogskins newest iteration, the "Skate Deck" Series. Each to include Oakley's famous hi-tech lens known for optimal UV protection and impact resistant (lens are put through ANSI Z87.1 test), the Frogskins "Skate Deck" Series also features a pre-distressed frame, designed to mimic a well-worn skateboard deck.
Part of Oakley Spring/Summer 2013 Collection, the Frogskins "Skate Deck" Series is available now at select Oakley retailers such as Caliroots in Stockholm.
