Steelcase Gesture Chair

The problem with the standard office chair is it's designed for a user who sits upright in front of a traditional desk top. In reality, we're oftentimes settled in a range of unusual positions as we use our tablets or smartphones -- something that the Gesture chair from Steelcase addresses. The company claims to have examined 2,000 people at work as part of a global posture study, resulting in the discovery of nine new office chair postures stemming from the ways we hold and use our various mobile devices. Consequently, the Gesture features a reclining back support that shifts in concert with the seat, an arm that provides support in any position, and a seat that's flexible at the perimeter, allowing users to sit in a range of postures without obstruction. Check out a video overview below, and look for the Steelcase Gesture to launch sometime this fall.
