Tennis Icon Andre Agassi Returns To Nike For Designed To Move Project

Known to be one of the best service returner in tennis' modern history, Andre Agassi dominated the sport he love for much of the 1990s. The winner of some 60 titles throughout his 20 years as a professional tennis player, Agassi won four Australian Open, two US Open, one French Open, and one Wimbledon championship. In addition, there were the two Davis Cup and a gold medal from the 1996 Summer Olympic in Atlanta.

Though forever linked to his mullet, colorful attire, and his "Image Is Everything" slogan during his days on the professional circuit, Agassi is now a tireless advocate for children's well being. Through his various charitable organizations like the Andre Agassi Charitable Association, Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, Athletes for Hope, and others, Agassi understands all too well the need of physical activity within a child's educational development. It is also the reason why Agassi is rejoining Nike, his long time sponsor, to work on its Designed to Move initiative. When asked about this new partnership with Nike, Agassi replied, "The past was exciting, emotional and life-changing for all of us. The future, however, is a landscape filled with unlimited opportunity and a canvas anxiously waiting to be filled in." He continued, "Designed to Move has opened new horizons. Coming back together with Nike through this partnership will have a multiplying effect on this and future generations." Phil Knight, Nike's co-founder and chairman, expressed the same sentiment, "As one of the world’s greatest tennis players, Agassi embodied the passion, dedication and determination of the Nike brand. As a philanthropist and campaigner, he continues to share Nike’s commitment to inspire the young generation with his Just Do It spirit. We are honored to welcome him back."
