After its well-received debut during New York Fashion Week earlier this year, designer Shayne Oliver brought his HOOD BY AIR label across the pond for his first European showing on Sunday. As part of the many festivities taking place during this week's London Collections: Men showcase, Oliver opened his presentation with a legion of local skaters, all modeled an exclusive collaboration between HBA and the century old knitwear brand Corgi. Organized by New York City's #BEEN #TRILL agency and led by model Jimmy Q, the event saw an overwhelming fanfare with guests Josh Beech, Shenae Grimes, Brooke Candy, Tim Blanks, along with Motofumi "Poggy" Kogi of Japan's UNITED ARROWS and DJ Mademoiselle Yulia.
True to HOOD BY AIR's concept as a fashion outlier, the event actually took place at SELFRIDGES' car park next to the department store's Oxford Street location. It also marked the opening of Men's Contemporary, SELFRIDGES' newest in-store retail concept set open this week. As for the HOOD BY AIR x Corgi collaboration, the collection will be available as a SELFRIDGES exclusive starting in October 2013.
