Held at the All England Club since 1877, the Wimbledon Championship isn't just the world's oldest tennis tournament but considered by most to be the most prestigious. Steeped in traditions and protocols, it is also the only grass court Grand Slam tennis tournament left. Since the event is taking place not far from BAMFORD WATCH DEPARTMENT's headquarters in London, proprietor George Bamford thought it was fitting to create a design as a homage to the celebrated annual competition.
Billed as the "Game, Set and Match" Special Edition and based on the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Chronograph, BAMFORD first highlighted the dial face with green and purple tone, in reference to Wimbledon Championships emblem. Punctuated with white index and second hand, a separate coating of black on minute and hour hands to sever as a contrast. Finally, the whole timepiece went through BAMFORD's signature military-grade titanium (MGT) treatment to produce a stunning all-black design.
Limited in quantity, the "Game, Set and Match" Special Edition Rolex Daytona from BAMFORD WATCH DEPARTMENT is available now through request only.
