Sensibly affordable and stylishly crafted in Mazda‘s KODO design theme, the 2014 Mazda3 Sportshatch wowed the automotive world during its global launch event on June 26th. Now, the company is ready to do it again with 2014 Mazda3 Sedan. Nearly identical to the five-door version, the new Mazda3 Sedan is no less tamer in appearance thanks to gracious curves. Like the hatchback, the rear doors are placed on an upward slope, thus giving the effect of a more aggressive stance.
In addition to the unveiling, Mazda also released more information on the powerplants that will be available. For the European market, there will be three SkyActiv engine options – 1.5-liter with 99 horsepower, 2.0-liter with 118 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter capable of 163 horsepower. There will also a SkyActiv-D variant, a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 148 horsepower. Outputs will be higher for the North American market with a 155 horsepower SkyActiv 2.0-liter engine as the base model. A 2.5-liter, 184 horsepower version will be available as well, plus a possible turbo-diesel addition later in 2014. Both the 2014 Mazda3 hatchback and sedan will be arriving in showrooms this Fall.
