In addition to the special collaboration with Hong Kong entertainer Shawn Yue, New Balance took the opportunity to rework its M996 trainers for this season. First introduced back in 1989, the M996 became New Balance’s best seller in no time thanks to its ample support and cushioning, along with a timeless yet simple aesthetic. And while it bears a new designation, Tetsuya Shono, head of New Balance Lifestyle division, left much of the silhouette intact. Instead, he focused on the technology behind the design, in this case the new REVLITE midsole. At 30% lighter than the tradition midsole, REVLITE still offers more impact absorption and responsiveness thanks to a new formulation, adding utmost comfort to the simple retro styling.
Comes in Silver Blue, Red, Grey, and Yellow, the in-line collection of New Balance MRL996 REVLITE is now available through all New Balance retailers worldwide.
