Most of us know Peter Saville as the artist responsible for the iconic cover for art for "Unknown Pleasures," the 1979 album from legendary post-punk band Joy Division. Saville has now been enlisted by Kanye West to create a visual identity for the rapper's personal brand. He told Dezeen, "We're looking at ways of writing 'Kanye West.' What does 'Kanye' and 'Kanye West' look like written down?" Savilled added that the partnership would "very casual," suggesting an open-ended collaboration as opposed to a specifically commissioned design. One clue as to what we can expect: the two discussed Adolphe Mouron Cassandre's 1961 logo for Yves Saint Laurent, with Yeezy expressing a desire for his own "YSL."
