The Lane Crawford, the prime retailer of luxury goods in Hong Kong’s Central district, is marking the launch of its new Shanghai flagship store with the grandiose exuberance of a “Sweet 16” party. Having established itself in the city’s Times Square Mall back in 2003, the company decided to withdraw for a while until it was ready to bring more oomph to Shanghai’s fashion scene. That time is now and the powerhouse promises not to disappoint.
For this milestone event, only the best and brightest Chinese stars have been selected to be featured in the Lane Crawford‘s inspirational campaign, entitled, “Modern Expressions”. Well dressed and in their element, China’s globally recognized talents have been photographed by legendary French photographer Patrick Demarchelier rocking each Autumn/Winter 2013 look like they own it. Expect to see such talents like models Liu Wen, Ming Xi and Zhao Lei alongside Shanghai’s creative icons, ranging from sculptor Qu Guang Ci, to multimedia artist Yi Zhou, to fashion designer Jin Chong Yu, to ballet dancer Tan Yuan Yuan.
The intense series will be displayed in-store, alongside images of the dynamic city of Shanghai. And for those who can’t make the trip across the Pacific, a virtual exhibition, featuring a new edit on the visuals, will also be showcased online at the click of a button.
