Famous for its silk scarves and ties, Hermès will soon expand its product line by a considerable margin with the launch of a duo of handsome carbon fiber bicycles. Handcrafted by Time in France, the bikes will come in two different models: Le Flâneur d’Hermès and Le Flâneur sportif d'Hermès. Each will feature a shock-absorbing frame, belt-driven transmission and hydraulic disc brakes, as well as a choice of eight or 11 gears integrated into the rear wheel hub. According to François Doré, head of the Hermès Horizons division, the brand wanted to work with people who "have a very deep expertise," and wherever possible, located in France. As for the the bikes, they're "simple, efficient, easy to use, pleasant and elegant." Both will be available at Hermès stores worldwide in November, each carrying a price tag of around $11,000.
