In a field crowded with top talent, New York's own Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne - the men behind the menswear brand Public SChool - took home the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Prize of $300,000 last night. The prize money is another top award for the duo who first met while they were both earning their stripes at Sean John, coming along after winning the Swarovski Menswear Award this past June. The brand is known for their menswear, but the prize money is going to help Osborne and Chow expand out their line to womenswear, where they hope to keep bringing the same urban, edgy feel they draw from the city around them. Considering the label was started in 2008 and they were up against a very select group of designers, a boost like this is only going to push them to the next level. Congratulations all around.
